At 28, Sumireko Ogawa—once a literary child prodigy—finds herself disillusioned by adulthood. Rejected by editors and stalled on her latest novel, she begins to settle into a quiet life as a bookstore clerk. But everything changes when she reads a peculiar poem from a mysterious book and is suddenly transformed back into a child.
While Sumireko is delighted to rediscover her passion and creative spark, her coworker Ren Adashino—an occult expert—warns her that the change is dangerous and could be fatal unless she reads more verses from the book. Reluctantly, she agrees to seek a way to return to her adult self and joins Ren and his sister, Oto, in exploring paranormal phenomena. Though Ren’s true motives remain uncertain, Sumireko is determined to turn her strange and thrilling new reality into literary inspiration.
