Although they are located side by side, Chidori Public High School and the prestigious all-girls Kikyo Private Academy feel worlds apart. Kikyo is renowned for its elegance and wealth, while Chidori is infamous for harboring rowdy troublemakers. This stark contrast fuels the strong dislike Kikyo students have toward their Chidori counterparts.
Rintarou Tsumugi, a 16-year-old Chidori student, has a fierce-looking face that causes others to keep their distance. Unbothered, he enjoys spending time with his close friends. Yet, there’s a side of his life they don’t know about—he occasionally helps at his family’s cake shop.
During one of his shifts, Rintarou notices a girl dining alone, but she flees before he can approach her. The next day, she introduces herself as Kaoruko Waguri and apologizes, assuring him that his appearance wasn’t what scared her off. Seeing kindness in him, Kaoruko’s cheerful nature slowly draws Rintarou in. However, their budding friendship faces a challenge: Kaoruko attends Kikyo!
