In the impoverished outskirts of a wealthy town, Rudo and his foster father, Regto, struggle to get by. Rudo harbors a strong resentment toward the town’s affluent residents and their wasteful lifestyles. Defying repeated warnings, he often scavenges through discarded items, searching for anything worth saving from the “Abyss”—a vast pit where trash and even unwanted people are thrown. One fateful day, after encountering a mysterious figure, Rudo returns home to find Regto mortally wounded. Wrongly accused of the crime, Rudo is arrested and thrown into the Abyss. Instead of meeting his end, he awakens in a filthy, dangerous world filled with monstrous beings born from garbage.

When one such creature attacks him, Rudo is rescued by Enjin, a man who introduces himself as a “Cleaner”—a warrior wielding special weapons called Vital Instruments to battle the trash monsters. After completing six years of witch training, Nico Wakatsuki returns to her hometown to begin life on her own. As a newly certified witch, she must now choose a familiar. Asta and Yuno were left at the same church on the very same day. The anime adapted the entire manga!

People capable of manifesting weapons from their souls are known as “Blazers,” and they enroll at Kouryou Academy High School to learn how to control and refine their powers. Despite possessing a diverse array of skills as a handyman, Saitou finds himself severely undervalued and underpaid.
