People capable of manifesting weapons from their souls are known as “Blazers,” and they enroll at Kouryou Academy High School to learn how to control and refine their powers. Every student is required to form a partnership, with the ultimate goal of one day reaching the legendary state known as Absolute Duo.

Tooru Kokonoe seeks admission to the academy in hopes of gaining strength after his sister and friends were killed by an unknown assailant. However, during the opening ceremony, he is immediately thrust into a duel against the student seated beside him, where defeat means expulsion. As Tooru resolves to fight with everything he has, the power that emerges from his soul is not a weapon, but a shield—an unusual anomaly that draws the attention of a foreign exchange student named Julie Sigtuna.

As his time in school comes to a close, Yuuki Wakura grows increasingly anxious about what lies ahead. While brooding over the idea of leading an unremarkable life, he is suddenly pulled into Mato—a parallel world inhabited by deadly creatures known as Shuuki. Ever since Mato’s existence became public knowledge, people accidentally crossing into this dangerous realm has become alarmingly common. In response, the all-female Demon Defense Force was formed to battle the Shuuki and rescue those who become trapped. Its members gain extraordinary powers from Peaches, special Mato fruits that grant abilities exclusively to women.

Just as Yuuki’s situation turns dire, he is rescued by Kyouka Uzen, the commander of the Demon Defense Force’s Seventh Unit. Though Kyouka is an exceptional fighter, her progress has long been hindered by her Peach ability, Slave. This power allows her to dominate a living being and draw out its strength, but the Shuuki she previously controlled were far too weak to be of real use.

When Yuuki and Kyouka are cornered by a swarm of Shuuki, she makes a desperate decision and uses Slave on a human for the first time. To her astonishment, Yuuki’s transformed state proves vastly more powerful than anything she had imagined. Convinced that he may be the key to unleashing her true potential, Kyouka offers Yuuki a place within the Demon Defense Force—though not as an ordinary member.

During a typical after-school food adventure, indulgent high schooler Hibiki Sakura finds herself confronted by her best friend Ayaka Uehara regarding her expanding waistline. With her attempts at exercising alone proving futile, Hibiki opts to enroll in the recently opened Silverman Gym. However, she soon discovers that the gym holds unexpected surprises. Not only is it populated by globally recognized bodybuilders and athletes, but it also harbors Akemi Souryuuin, the student council president and school idol, who happens to have a strong affinity for muscular physiques. Disgusted by the unfolding scene, Hibiki begins to leave, only to be intercepted by trainer Naruzou Machio. Completely captivated by him, Hibiki impulsively signs up as a gym member. Now, as a consequence of her impulsive decision, Hibiki must adapt to her newfound lifestyle.

Ayakashi are mysterious supernatural beings that remain unseen by most people. While many pose no threat, some prey on humans by feeding on their life energy. To protect society from these dangerous entities, exorcist ninjas are trained to hunt and seal them.

Matsuri Kazamaki is a young exorcist ninja from a renowned clan. His longtime friend Suzu Kanade is an ayakashi medium, gifted with an abundance of life force that naturally draws ayakashi toward her. Viewing all ayakashi as a danger, Matsuri is determined to keep Suzu away from them, a stance that conflicts with her wish to stay close to these beings. Their lives take a drastic turn when they encounter Shirogane, the self-proclaimed King of Ayakashi, who seeks to devour Suzu. As she faces imminent danger, Matsuri intervenes and succeeds in sealing Shirogane’s powers—but not before the ayakashi retaliates by transforming him into a girl.

Forced to live in this unfamiliar form, Matsuri must adapt to his unusual new life while continuing to battle hostile ayakashi. At the same time, Suzu begins to question her feelings toward Matsuri, pushing their relationship into uncertain and complicated territory.
