Nestled within a forest and sealed off by high gates, Grace Field House is home to a group of orphans who live together as a close-knit family under the care of their kind “Mama,” Isabella. While the children are required to take daily tests, they otherwise enjoy a carefree life, often playing outdoors, as long as they obey the strict rule of never straying beyond the orphanage grounds. From time to time, one of the children is adopted and leaves to join a new family, never to return.

Despite the peaceful appearance, the three eldest siblings begin to sense that something is terribly wrong. Their doubts soon lead them to uncover the horrifying truth behind life at Grace Field, as well as the dark secret hidden beneath the gentle smile of Isabella.

NOTA: This second season is an abbreviated version of the events that take place between chapters 38 and 181, it has an accelerated pace and they simplified the plot of the original manga. There are also changes to consider, the main ones being the omission of the Goldy Pond Battle Arc (chapters 75-95) and the battle against the demon queen and her nobles, in the manga Isabella is killed and Emma’s memory is erased in exchange to forge a new “Promise” between demons and humans.

Where to start The Promised Neverland manga after anime?
Where Does the Anime End? Where Should I Start Reading?

The anime ended at episode 23 (11 of Season 2), which corresponds to Chapter 172, 173 and 174 of the manga. The adaptation covers up to this point.

After watching the anime, to continue the story in the manga, start reading from Chapter 175 (*), which corresponds to Volume 20 (collecting chapters 172 to 181).

(*) Although the anime has an ending that could be similar to the manga, it has many changes. That’s why I recommend reading from chapter 175 onwards, this takes place after Peter Ratri death.
