Death City is home to the renowned Death Weapon Meister Academy, also known as Shibusen, a specialized school led by the Shinigami himself, Lord Death. The academy’s purpose is to create powerful Death Scythes to combat the evils that threaten their world. Unlike ordinary weapons, these scythes are formed from humans capable of transforming into Demon Weapons, a process completed only after collecting the souls of 99 evil beings and one witch.
Among these students is Soul Eater Evans, a laid-back Demon Scythe obsessed with being cool, who strives to become a Death Scythe alongside his disciplined meister, Maka Albarn. They train and fight together with the loud and reckless Black☆Star and his gentle weapon partner Tsubaki, as well as Death the Kid, the Shinigami’s son, whose obsession with symmetry is matched by his skill as a dual wielder of the pistols Patty and Liz.
Through dangerous missions to gather souls and defend the city from looming threats, the students of Shibusen grow stronger together, honing their minds, bodies, and souls beneath the ever-watching sun.
