Spontaneous Human Combustion, an unpredictable phenomenon that has afflicted humanity for an extended period, whimsically transforms ordinary individuals into fiery, aggressive entities known as Infernals. While the first generation comprises accounts of Human Combustion featuring Infernals, the subsequent generations are recognized as pyrokinetics—individuals endowed with the capacity to manipulate and control flames while retaining their human form. To address the Infernal menace and discern its origins, the Tokyo Armed Forces, Fire Defense Agency, and Holy Church of Sol unite to create their solution: the Special Fire Force.

Shinra Kusakabe, a young and enthusiastic third-generation pyrokinetic distinguished by the moniker “Devil’s Footprints” due to his explosive ability to ignite his feet at will, joins the vibrant Special Fire Force Company 8. Committed to the brigade’s mission of extinguishing the blazing Infernals and providing solace to their souls, Shinra aspires to be a hero capable of rescuing those imperiled by the fiery terror.

Nevertheless, Shinra finds that the hero’s journey is not as straightforward as he envisioned. The Fire Force proves to be a disordered amalgamation of conflicting brigades, sightings of unusual Infernals surge across Tokyo, and a clandestine group alleges to possess answers regarding the enigmatic fire that claimed Shinra’s family 12 years ago. Confronted with numerous challenges both within and beyond the Fire Force, Shinra strives to unravel the truth concealed behind the burning mysteries that have shrouded him in darkness.

Where to start Fire Force manga after anime?

Where Does the Anime End? Where Should I Start Reading?

The anime ended at episode 60 (12 of Season 3), which corresponds to Chapter 213, 214, 215 and 216 of the manga. The adaptation covers up to this point.

After watching the anime, to continue the story in the manga, start reading from Chapter 217, which corresponds to Volume 25 (collecting chapters 214 to 222).

How to Watch Fire Force in Order?

Watching Fire Force is simple, as the anime does not include any additional material. You only need to watch the three seasons to follow the story from the manga. However, if you find the anime under its original Japanese title, Enen no Shouboutai, here is the season order:

  1. Enen no Shouboutai: The first season consists of 24 episodes and adapts chapters 1 to 90 of the manga.
  2. Enen no Shouboutai: Ni no Shou: The second season also has 24 episodes and covers chapters 91 to 174 of the manga.
  3. Enen no Shouboutai: San no Shou: The third season is made up of 24 episodes, split into two parts of 12 episodes each. It adapts chapter 175 onward from the manga.

Does Fire Force have filler episodes?

No, Fire Force does not have any filler episodes. The only episode with original content is episode 25 in the overall numbering (episode 1 of season 2). This segment was not adapted from the manga from minute 0 to 16:50. In that part, Maki, Iris, and Tamaki take Shinra shopping for clothes for Lieutenant Hinawa due to his poor fashion sense. From minute 16:50 onward, the anime returns to the manga storyline. Although it may not seem like it, the annual firefighter calendar is canon and corresponds to chapters 91 and 92 of the manga.
