Hunters dedicate themselves to completing risky missions, ranging from exploring uncharted lands to locating rare creatures and objects. To become a Hunter, individuals must survive the perilous Hunter Examination, where many applicants suffer injuries or even death.

Among those daring to face the daunting exam, each has their own motivation. For 12-year-old Gon Freecss, it’s the quest to find his father, Ging, who is also a Hunter. Gon believes that by following in his father’s footsteps, he’ll eventually reunite with him.

Throughout the Hunter Examination, Gon forms bonds with fellow participants: Leorio Paladiknight, a medical student; Kurapika, driven by revenge; and Killua Zoldyck, a former assassin. Despite their differing reasons, they unite toward a common objective and embark on perilous adventures together.

Where to start Hunter x Hunter (2011) manga after anime?

Where Does the Anime End? Where Should I Start Reading?

The anime ended at episode 148, which corresponds to Chapter 338 (p. 6-17) and 339 of the manga. The adaptation covers up to this point.

After watching the anime, to continue the story in the manga, start reading from Chapter 340, which corresponds to Volume 32 (collecting chapters 331 to 340).

How to Watch Hunter x Hunter 2011 In Order?

The watch order for Hunter x Hunter (2011) is very simple: you only need to watch the 148-episode anime, as these are the only episodes directly adapted from the manga. As for the two movies, they are non-canon and considered alternate stories; however, if you choose to watch them, the recommended order is:

  1. Movie 1: Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge: The movie takes place at the culmination of the Phantom Troupe Arc (after episode 58), but it has some changes that contradict the previous episodes and its ending doesn’t fit with the next episodes of the anime. The film includes a canonical flashback to Kurapika’s childhood adapted from the special chapters Kurapika’s Memories Part 1 and 2.
  2. Movie 2: Hunter × Hunter: The Last Mission: The movie takes place after the Greed Island Arc at the beginning of the Chimera Ant Arc while Gon and Killua were exploring with Kite (between episodes 77 and 78), and may or may not be part of the canon story due to a lack of official statements.
