Magano, an alternate dimension teeming with creatures called “Kegare,” serves as the battleground for exorcists combating impurities. Benio Adashino, a highly skilled exorcist acknowledged for her prowess, is called to Tokyo by the Exorcist Union. During her journey, she unexpectedly falls into the company of Rokuro Enmadou, a young exorcist with a troubled history.
Yet, the malevolent forces within Magano show no respite. When Benio and Rokuro witness the abduction of children by a Kegare, Benio takes immediate action to rescue them, pulling Rokuro into Magano alongside her. As Benio finds herself in a precarious battle, Rokuro intervenes, demonstrating his ability to be her equal in skill.
Sousei no Onmyouji narrates the tale of two gifted exorcists, fated to become the “Twin Star Exorcists” and the foretold parents of the Miko—the reincarnation of Abe no Seimei—destined to purify the world from all impurities.

| Where Does the Anime End? | Where Should I Start Reading? |
|---|---|
|
The last canon episode that aired is 20 of Season 1, which corresponds to Chapter 14 (p. 32-43) and 15 of the manga. The adaptation covers up to this point. NOTE: The anime did not fully adapt chapter 4 and skipped chapter 5 of the manga, so I recommend reading both. |
After watching the anime, to continue the story in the manga, start reading from Chapter 16, which corresponds to Volume 5 (collecting chapters 15 to 18). NOTE: I recommend reading chapter 15 of the manga, since there is an event that varies with anime and that is important for the continuity of chapter 16. |
