Seishuu Handa is a rising star in the world of calligraphy—young, attractive, and undeniably gifted, though also overly proud of his talent. When a respected veteran critic dismisses his prize-winning work as lacking originality, Seishuu reacts impulsively, leading to serious consequences.

As both punishment and a chance for self-reflection, his father sends him away to the remote Goto Islands, far removed from the comfortable city life of Tokyo that he knows so well. Suddenly immersed in rural living, Seishuu struggles to discover fresh inspiration and shape a truly personal artistic style. However, peace and quiet prove impossible to find, especially with lively children—led by the energetic Naru Kotoishi—along with eccentric students and spirited elders constantly intruding on his space.

Though he initially longs for solitude to focus on his craft, the vibrant and meddlesome community of the Goto Islands gradually teaches Seishuu valuable lessons about creativity, humility, and personal growth—far beyond anything he expected to learn.
